Friday

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO CALL THIS SO I WILL JUST TYPE THIS

This shit doesn’t make sense anymore
The spinach is in the shape of clouds
And the worms rise to the morning moons.
Garbage fills my mind, instead of sweet
Thoughts of yesterday’s accomplishments
The tile floor is colder than an ice cube.
When you change your eye color, you can
Talk to me about our guitar dreams and
The taste of music. When it comes down
To it: does she even love you in the dark?

Where is my Mother?
Fish scales, lemongrass and cigarettes
Ash on my eyelids, closed until November
The bottom of her palm feels like tree bark
Sending spirts to the mountains, the men
March. One by one, two by two.
Bring your forest,  your back pocket is a
Great place to send your sisters.
Beans, circles and shooting stars.
This month has eaten 30 days.

549 insert, Friday 1999.

I want to be the light from the sun that glistens in your green eyes
The morning when the ocean meets the moon and we sail away
I want to be the smile on the face of the people, to be able to feel that happy
I want to be the love that pours out of your soul after you take a sip of the moon

Sunday

mood tonight...

his middle name.

Better than a human being
My knees continue to bleed
As the old man whispers my name
Where the grass seeps down,
The river water washes away my
Sorrows. Beating down on us,
The Yellow Moon asks a question,
“Where do you go when you have no one to love?”

Just come in
I don’t care where the tomatoes come from
And I don’t mind your messy, curly hair
Come in and dance the night away, with
This red wine and my record collection.
The living room turns into a meadow
And the walls begin to change
Don’t ask questions, just take my hand
And let’s enjoy this evening before the
Dawn’s Sun takes it from us. Before the
Day turns, and your eyes stay green.

Coffee thoughts
Dreaming of a place, a space to call ours
To call home
Where we are the only living ones
Where the skies reached for miles and miles
Consisted of lemon drop sunshine and smiles
Returning dreams, with a bit of magic in the wind
Honey on our tongues, love on our lips
Home, only for us

Friday

hello.
I missed my ride on the midnight train
And I dropped my brain in a sewage drain
My pet crane hates the morning rain
amongst the trees and the bees, I love
You the least, before my toes and after my niece

Thursday

Praise God who has many names
The devil have many more
With the love that my mother gave me
I'm gonna drop the devil to the floor

THE JAY
Here in the office the time seems to move backwards
The paint on the walls smell like 1981 and the hand soap
Is older than my mom. The ceiling looks like it’s going to fall
And the janitor reminds me of an old mall

less than a heart

blush roses
blush cheeks
blush mind
she who spends time
where the water meets
the earth, will know
where all the secrets hide.
gold colored hair, skin softer
than a feather; her crown
sits on top. she has a mind
of a goddess and eyes of an eagle.
red like rubies, her skin begins to shed.
love her until the end of time,
until the end of time.
you will be mine.

nothing.
small as dust
sip of the moon
gold in her eyes

Wednesday

(no lights).
Passing through streets
Streets with no lights
Thoughts that stream through
(No lights)
My mind is frozen
Shut like a door
(No lights)
The time seems to slow down
(No lights)
Where I can hear my mother scream
(No lights)
For help which I cannot give
(No lights)
And for the one who can only love
(No lights)
Only see where evil sits in the pretty girl’s eyes
(No lights)

Tuesday

you don’t have to.

Awake is the man next to the stove
His counter is covered with shards of glass
And wax slips out his mouth
The fingerprints he leaves are not the fingerprints
He owns. Where his mother smoked her first cigarette
Is the same place we put our thoughts to rest.
Beneath our feet, our shoes, the Earth moves.
The rivers turn to centuries as the rose turns to dust
She must
                She MUST
                                must.
                                              Her eyes blink.

pearls of white

The ash in her eyes, the torture told on her lips
Pages of this book and many others
Turn the car around before the road disappears
Trickle down like honey
Slower than the grass can grow
People scream,  people talk.
The closet is closed because the night monsters
Are in there. Their thoughts bring the darkness.

ok
The death of us under the sun
Before we run, with dreams in our hands
The love before our time and then some.

Moments before the clouds rain,
Before my brain is flooded with thoughts
The blue like her eyes after a long midnight drive.

Monday

point of view.

earth beneath us
the roots they form
rain falls down,
                         down,
                                    down.

rivers sip the lies and the sins
the screams of child's needs
the sun that beams, follow my lead

beneath me, our mother rises to the yellow moon
with the sway of the wind, the branches dance,
                                                                              dance,
                                                                                        dance.

Friday

goodbye.
Before the night sky says goodbye
                Kiss me in the stars
If love ever meets us again we shall dance
As big as the earth, as wide as the sky
The dawn of the sound, the way the trees sway
I will just go back to the sea
I’ve had a taste of the moon and I must say
Night tastes like angels dancing in the dark
Like a hurricane in October and a gentle spring

Tuesday

here.
Here is where LOVE sits where LOVE meets where LOVE dances
Where LOVE loves/ Here is where LOVE lives where LOVE shines
Where LOVE grows where LOVE sings.

whole wide world.

If you can hear me through all the noise
The horns, the people, the thoughts, the music
If you can hear me through all the noise
Flowers blooming, spiders dancing, birds chirping
If you can hear me through all the noise
Babies crying, freedom screaming, kids dying
If you can hear me through all the noise
Just set fire to this whole life and bring back the old

the third pocket poem
into this forest i will go
to lose my mind and
share a smile with a soul

one whole heart
I am not someone you can love with only half a heart,
With half a soul. Dress me up in gold and let me wear
Roses. I need a whole heart to heal my soul. I am not
Someone you can love with half a heart. You must be
Here when I need you, when I don’t. You can’t love a
Girl with half a heart.

three before two
The toes that touch the surface of the earth that spins around and around
The breath she takes with her broken lungs which fill her body full
The eyes she uses to see the people that sing the melodies of the spring

a poem
Someone here told me that life is about rain
And dancing in the mud. That life is about
Smiling at the moon and whispering to the sun.
Someone told me this life is for the gold beetles.

smaller than nothing
If you can hear me through all the noise
The horns, the people, the thoughts, the music
If you can hear me through all the noise
Flowers blooming, spiders dancing, birds chirping
If you can hear me through all the noise
Babies crying, freedom screaming, kids dying
If you can hear me through all the noise
Just set fire to this whole life and bring back the old

back of a sunflower is the back.
Sunset lips and a crescent moon mind
Tonight the world will sing you to sleep
My child, my child, hold tight to the petals
Of this sunflower and just breathe
The cracks that are seen, are the cracks that are seen
Age is a number that represents your journey
Around the EARTH. Shifting and forming, evolving
And loving, the world is a better place with bees
Full of nothing but love the rabbits follow suit
The shoes that my mother gave me are the shoes
That I shall be buried in. Thoughts are storms in
The brain that form and eat and sing. Cracked teeth,
Fire that simmers the heart where memories are
Stored. Ocean’s breeze to clear the mind. A body,
A man’s body found on Main Street. With the wandering
Possums, the beer cans and the moonlight. Nothing
Could be better than black on white.

Saturday

Light
Sun sneaks in through the cream blinds
Spiders spin their webs, the shadows dance on my desk
The smell of fresh grass leaks into my second floor window
Clouds smile as they twist and turn by, with the birds that soar high
Higher than a ladder, higher than heaven. When it rains, it rains and the
Birds will announce it to the yard before they take shelter

Friday

Feeling creepy
Slicker than a black widow spider
Webs to connect ideas, to think
Of the dead and cry of the past
Quarters to buy men’s hearts,
Time drips slower than honey
On a cold day.

really don't know anymore
I’m sorry for crying to the stars last night
I can’t find the middle of this thought
Space filled with strawberries and kisses
Oceans that own the purple sunrises
And the shells that make nice rings

clear like water.

Eat the darkness from my heart
Find the doors to enter my thoughts
Above the water before the sunset
Where love finds evil sinners and
They drink red wine all night
Strange things happen to all of us
Just remember his front tooth
