Monday

1254.
While the kids are dying
You are out here lying
Just to have a place to sleep
Just to have some food to eat.
Nothing out here is true anymore
The streets with unwritten words
The mouths of the people whom
We love, ripped apart backwards.
Where the children should smile,
Where they should make friends.
Memories of our childhood haunt
My morning dreams. Remember
When the stoop was safe and you
Could sleep with your windows
Open?

a magenta kind of red

The secrets lie within the heart of the mind, behind the Queen

Secluded rose gardens whisper dreams past midnight and onward

Crimson love seeps through eyes of gold, dripping like honey down a spoon

The TO poem
To drown out the world
 To live in a cocoon
To eat cherries with my eyes
   To hear birds cry
To see the sea swim away
To breathe the orange sun glow
To watch the night sky fall
To kiss the man of my dreams
To lick the side of your brain
         To hear the children scream
To taste the ginger on my teeth
To smell the pavement in the heat
To drive a car with no feet
To smell a rose with my mind

Tuesday

"The people shall be troubled at midnight and pass away."

To feel deeper than the roots of my backyard tree

An ocean breeze, one that sweeps me to my knees
Down to the bone, stone cold, feelings that hurt
When you have the ability to take it all in
As deep as the blue can go- as strong as a lion’s heart
When you feel exactly how your mother feels
When you can feel the horror in your brother’s eyes
The feeling is stronger than a current and wider than
An ocean. I must take my ability to the great heaven’s sky
Not everyone has the ability to store energy of a once
Dead woman or an angry baby bird. When crying hits you
Harder than a brick wall and brings your heart to burn-
Control the good and take the bad. One day I will need
To find someone to take all the bad before my bones turn
To dust and my brains float away. I can help a stranger,
I feel joy when I see the baby boy’s first walk. With a
Power so strong and so able. No wonder all my time
Spent is silent at the dinner table- over candlelight the
Coyote Moon glistens upon my fingertips.

Tuesday

Blade of seagrass.
Remember when we would sing to the lightening bugs
We would sing them to sleep, so then you could fall sleep
Remember when we would climb to the top of the roof
Just to get a taste of space and the stars before they faded away
Remember when we would dance free in the July pouring rain
When we would smile in silence while we lick our rained on lips
Remember when nothing else in the world mattered besides us?
Besides Love. Where did the Love go?

Where is the Man?
Let us know how it feels to grind your feelings between your two front teeth
Between you and I, the stars seem brighter than ever and oh so delicate
Scattered amid the purple horizon is kindness from the Old Man on the Moon
Eating beetles and bugs only to survive for tomorrow’s golden heaven

pocket poem 006.

Remember when the spring mornings lasted a life time
And the sun would shine through our fog filled minds
Where the trees dance and the sky is a kind of ocean blue

nine

The petals seep in, red as silk,
White as silk. The memories
Arise, where mountains are small
And the river mice sing. Where
Rain falls sideways and the stars
Look like strings of dreams from
Yesterday’s thoughts. Where the
Lemon tree produces love and
Only love. Where the sidewalk
Gently touches the sea. The same
Place I fell in love with you.

...

Imagine being loved by a willow tree
Her hair sways with the summer’s wind
Imagine life as a tiny housefly
His eyes a very shiny kind of blue
