Sunday

we met with lemon eyes
and a good taste for men

she let me in, with a crooked grin.
whereas she eats, the birds sing
lullabies that send her off to sleep.
i can remember the first time she
called, i had just made tea
and rubbed honey all over my
front door.

from a warm hue- something
between golden yellow and
a lack of sleep, her beauty ate
the atmosphere of the room
and proved to us that time
could melt, with the right kind
of Jaded silk.

if you let your tears water
years of no
growth, Wednesdays turn
to silk and my mind's ready
to be milked. giving up
on yourself, where your beauty
meets the eye.  beyond many
scraped knees and visions
of the milky sky, there is
nowhere to begin. i can
feel it more so in my skin.

Saturday

 a lifetime ago
a lifetime ago, i knew i'd have you, (a son)
wrapped around my cobwebbed heart,
your tiny fingers, curious and smart.
                                            following the sound.
i see the sun in your eyes
and the moon at your fingertips.
i promise to make the world as safe as silk for you.
and i will eat away all the sadness and confusion, just
for you.     all  i desire
as an artist, as a lover, as your mother,
is for you to cherish this telling silence,
find love in small spaces,
and  create a definition for your soul.
                                            i promise you,
a lifetime ago, i knew you'd me mine.
                                                   ( son )

should check out this pretty good album;)

where the moths sleep
my heart breaks every time you leave the house.
when my soul's eyes can't see you, when the light
isn't on. i love you like the months won't end and our
summer nights turn into conversations
only the bugs would have. eating our shadows
for dinner on our sidewalk dates while
the garden silently fills in.

i wish to be the elegant cattails
swaying with the breeze
taking nothing for granted
holding on to the sea
dainty and free

i feel bad for him
i met him while words
were falling out
   my mouth
upside down and colorful
   murky and rough
and he still
        loves me

living up on the hill
   the winds roar.
grass blades move as one.
as if it were the angry sea,
an ocean wave,
running fast across the grass.
back and forth, back and forth.
one might say,
                  "the wind is
           too much"
but honestly, i love watching
                the grass dance angry
because of the roaring winds.
