Monday

page one of page one.

Cats and black cats and dead end streets.
No street lights, no mailboxes, nothing.
Green beans, city stoops and grandmas.
Jump to the next chapter of life,
There may be a fly with advice so don’t
Let him die.

Half Cup Full.

New shoes, new life, new me.
Today I will remember the times of
Goat ice cream and long full moons.
There is a time, where times end,
Where the breeze brings us back,
There is a time to forget everything.
I am in my own time, where clocks
Melt off the walls and little white men
Dance in the hallways. There is a time
For attitude, and there is a time for
Death. But today is the day I don’t die.

Thursday

MASTER OF TIME

I know where the snow comes from, I know, I know.
But where does the time go?
In front of us, behind us, time has come and gone.
Where does it go though?
Is there a Master of TIME and he controls it?
Does he store the unused time in tiny bottles?
Does he recycle the minutes, hours, days?
While I have time today and a cup of coffee,
Can someone please tell me where the time goes?

COLESLAW DREAMS?

I had a dream last night,
The kind that makes you think
And the kind that steals your heart.
You were in my dream last night.
But I thought we were done.
I thought this was done.
So why were you there?
Were you coming to tell me something?
Why were you there?
Last night?
In my Dream?
Some things, in this life, I can’t
Understand, and I can’t control.
I thought my dreams were controlled
By my human brains?
Can’t I control that?
Why did you show up last night?
I saw you, you were there, but you
Didn’t speak a word. Not one.
Am I making you appear
Or did you really stop by?
Please tell me why?

Poem.

I had to move to the city to forget you.
Had to cut my hair to remind myself, this is my life.
I am in control of every day and every minute.
From now on, I cross my t’s and I end my sentences.
I sip my coffee with no dreams of you.

Tuesday

The To Do.

To dance on a cat’s whisker,
To feel the piano in your soul,
To climb the top of a tree,
To see the world as a whole,
To pick a peach right off the tree,
To erase the memories of what used to be,
To breathe in the fresh ocean breeze.

2013.

On a boat, down the throat
Of the Pacific Ocean.
Salty, ten eyes wander.
Before we die,
Let’s get high
And fly on the water.
Your feet will glide,
Your eyes are wide.
Clouds in the sky,
A boat approaches.
Fishing poles, and
Brain holes, nothing
Makes sense anymore.
Paint the sky, so my eyes
Can see, how nice
The Fall Trees may be.

Scuff from a Paintbrush.

Welcome to my broken heart.
Take your shoes off.
Around here dreams die and
The ocean doesn’t have enough
Water, to bring the starfish home.
Together we will fly, together
We will try to bring home all the
Lonely girls. The beer is warm,
The winter brings no snow
And my brother is on the floor.
He is singing the ants home
While his tears drop on
The hardwood floor.
Mugs filled with coffee and
Rum, kitchen tables with
No legs. Dirt in between
The floor boards, where
The insects dance and
Hide. Crows in the house
While Mother cooks the ham.

Saturday

I thought it doesn't get
Better than this
There can be nothing better than this
Better than this
And we climbed onto the roof, the museum
And someone made love in the glass
And I'd forgot my name
And the way back to my mother's house
With your black cool eyes and your bitten lips
The world is at your fingertips
It doesn't get better than this
What else could be better than this?

hartford CT

some randoms i got the other day....

Eight.

Minds with bubbles, lots of trouble.
Don’t let the bad men in.
Tables turn, look at this burn.
Flames of fire, water, love
Fill our cup up, up, up.
Don’t drink water from the West River.

Two eyes.

Take the knife,
From my back pocket,
Where a Nickel sits,
Down on the ground,
Where ants march,
Down the street,
Where your mother lives,
And sheds her skins,
Touches the stars,
We see in the night sky,
Where birds sing and
Memories die.

Wednesday

Lines.

Tomorrow is another day, full of surprises and half eaten peaches.
We can’t live for the future if we can’t live for today.
Take two steps back before you walk into Winter.

three minus ten only exists in the now.

The smell of you lingers on for what seems like centuries,
While there is still dirt on the ground, the hummingbird sings.
Fly away, just for one day into a future unknown yet beautiful.
We are living in the now, we only exist in the now.

24.

Silence sleeps upon the broken rose petal.
The men weep before they enter the church.
Twenty three days and still no sign of life.
