Friday

Coffee bombs, butter earrings and midnight moths.

I remember my mother told me, to love all dead things
When the moon shines in, when the weather is just right
Our windows are dressed with cobwebs and our lights are
Pretty dim. The attic door is the color of our barn.
You know it’s time for bed, when the candles go out and
The music starts to play. And then you start to sway. Your
Mind goes to heaven while your body floats above the bed.
When I was little I wanted to be a flower, strong yet
Beautiful. I call the cracks in the walls house veins and
The ceiling fans dad. When the backyard pond turns
Yellow, grab the kayak and let’s paddle to the  WolfMoon.
Just to reminisce on the times we had before
we were born.
